#Repost @911memorial with @make_repost
Eighteen years ago, under clear blue skies, the unimaginable happened. Today we honor those who were killed on 9/11 and say their names out loud. We recognize the courage of those that made the ultimate sacrifice and risked their lives to save others. In the days, weeks and months after 9/11 we gathered in unity and a shared resilience. In that same spirit thousands came together on the 9/11 Memorial to honor the 2,977 people killed on 9/11.
When I went to New York for the first time this month last year, coming here was the most important thing for me. I remember being in middle school when it happened. The tv got turned on for us. I don’t think any of us UNDERSTOOD EXACTLY what was happening that morning. To this day I can never forget. We will never forget. I can only say thank you to those that made the ultimate sacrifice, and to those that knew them, thank you. And to those still fighting for us on a fairly basis, I see you and thank you 🙏🏽We must come together as a country now as we did back then. Let us not forget what we can be together. Say their names.
