What is so good about oats? Well, I’ve always known they were healthy for you and all that - but have you ever thought about why it’s so good for you and what it does for our body? Sometimes I think we underestimate what our bodies does for us - so I’m here to give you some facts, and maybe you will view food in a different way. . .
Oats are INCREDIBLY nutritious, it’s actually one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. . .
They are rich in antioxidants, which is a substance that removes potentially damaging oxidizing agents in a living organism. .
Oats contain a powerful solunle fiber called Beta-Glucan: these can reduce LDL and total cholesterol levels, reduce blood sugar and insulin response, and increase the feeling of fullness. .
They increase growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract and can help you relieve constipation! .
All of these incredible benefits you can get from just eating a grain!!! From a plant!!! How amazing is that? .
If we can see food as medicine for our gut, to fuel and give us energy & realize how important it is for our general well-being instead of viewing it as «good and bad», maybe eating it won’t be such a goddamn big deal! .
So how can you incorporate oats into your daily life without it being boring? There’s so many ways!! This oatmeal was delicious, topped with fruits and nut butter and seeds to fill me up!!! You can make overnight oats, oat pancakes (I swear on this one), breakfast oat muffins, oat bars, granola! There is so much you can do.
