Feel good food appreciation post!! 😋
This is literally what I’ve been shovelling down my neck since returning from overseas 4 days ago.
COLOUR! COLOUR! COLOUR!
I’m fully aware that I am supposed to feel energised and feel really good after eating, not bloated or like I need a nap. From my experience, this is something a lot of people really don’t understand.
Food is not just something that tantalises our tastebuds, ITS OUR FUEL!
After a few weeks spent in another country consuming a diet completely different to what ‘my body’ is used to and almost void of colour, I began to have trouble with digestion, felt stodgy, tired, bloated, sluggish, foggy and blaaaah!
I’ve travelled quite a a bit and really do love immersing myself in new food and in new cultures, however, I will always listen to my body and pay attention to how I feel overall after I eat something new.
I don’t believe there is a one size fits all when it comes to food. I understand that no two bodies are the same and therefore I absolutely loathe all the crazy fad diets and quick fixes out there that do NOT work! Sure there are some basic principles all human beings really should abide by when it comes to what is put into our bodies, but I’ll leave that for another post.
For now, may I suggest that you all “Become much more aware and pay close attention to how YOU feel after you eat or drink something. Check in other yourself after. Do you feel energised? Do you feel clear minded? How is your mood? Do you feel bloated, over-full and crampy? Do you sleep well after your evening meal and wake refreshed?
The answer my friends, is in all how you feel!
